hello and mushrooms and things

It's been a while since I've updated this blog. Years! I almost forgot about it. So much has happened between now and my last post. I've moved so much. Countries, homes, jobs. I've been broken in so many ways and I've rebuilt. Finally I am in a state where I am much more settled. calmer and happy.

These days I've been finding myself drawing more often. I have been inspired with so many contemporary Japanese artists and designers such as Tsumori Chisato and Aya Takano. I love the bright colours and whimsical shapes and characters (I love most things whimsical).

I was walking home one wintry evening when I saw mushrooms thriving on sidewalks that I spent the whole night drawing them and colouring them in photoshop the week after. These are the results!

In the future I hope to turn my drawings into textile patterns or something wearable.

Anyway, I hope everyone is staying warm this winter.

Reverie with rabbits

My rabbits are so furry that they get tangled in my hair when I pick them up for some snuggling sessions. They don't like being off the ground for long, and they start scratching to let me know they're sick of me. In the future I should opt for a more affectionate species of animals as pets.

The things we never told each other are sung in songs

This goes out to the special people that have touched my life somehow, you guys are stars. Also I was meant to post this on Valentine's day but the lazy libra me was just too, well, lazy.

Fluffy purple clouds and more

Some sketches that I've done so far this year.

This cat lady has a little attitude problem.

This blushing chica is in love.

A songbird puffing out smokey hearts.

And a couple of native american inspired sketches. These two girls are probably from different tribes and have ever met each other before.

This little bee has been busy.

Lucky Charms

I finally found the time to scan this drawing and coloured it digitally. It certainly has been hectic these past couple of weeks. This piece is about lucky charms (see title above) and also I was a bit obsessed with jewelry making and also native american folklore. I was thinking maybe I should make my own dreamcatcher and hang it above my bed.

It's been a while since I've done any analog work. This piece was done for a friend, and hopefully it will get to him just in time for christmas. Unfortunately the scanner I used is a bit crap and the colours are kinda off.

I’ve been sick a lot lately and haven’t had the time or energy to do personal work. I started this one quite some time ago, and it’s still unfinished. I think I need a break since my creativity has been running low these days.
